Take Studieprøven (SP) with A2B
Do you need to pass the final Danish language exam Studieprøven – perhaps as part of a your plan to apply for a Danish university degree? And do you wish to take the exam at A2B’s Aarhus location without participating in lessons prior?
Here you can register for Studieprøven as as a private student. Studieprøven is the 6th module in Danskuddannelse 3 and is part of the prerequisites to apply for several bachelors and master degrees that are taught in Danish.
When taking Studieprøven, there is both an oral exam and a written exam. You will be tested in:
- Reading comprehension. The texts require a broad knowledge of Danish academic language.
- Writing, where it is expected that you can explain, analyze, put into perspective and discuss topics in an academic way.
- Speaking and listening. You will make a presentation on an academic topic followed by a discussion with your examinating teacher.
Before your exam, you will receive information from A2B regarding location, meeting times etc.
Studieprøven is held twice per year: In May/June and November/December. The exams follow the guidance from the ministry and you will receive a grade based on the Danish 7 step scale. When you purchase the exam, you pay the fees.
If you previously have taken Studieprøven but only have passed one part, you can sign up again and only take the part that you didn’t pass the first time. If you then pass the discipline, you can transfer the results from your previous test and receive a diploma.
Danskuddannelse 3 modul 6 (Studieprøven) is targeted students, who have a long educational background from their home country and want to take a Danish bachelor or masters degree. Studieprøven can also be relevant in certain jobs, where it is expected of you to communicate with an academic level of Danish proficiency.
Tips
Prepare yourself for Studieprøven
The following can help you enhance the chances of passing Studieprøven.
To prepare as best as possible, it is important to know what each test contains. Du kan læse om prøvens dele på ministeriets hjemmeside her.
Most importantly, the exam consists of two parts:
- The written exam takes place on the date you see when you start registering. Reading comprehension take 1½ hours. Writing takes 3 hours.
- The oral exam takes place after the written exam, in June or December. A2B will send you the date and test time. The oral exam consists of:
- A test in speaking and listening that lasts 30 minutes which includes receiving your grade.
Studieprøven doesn’t have a fixed list of materials you go through to study for the exam. However, a good piece of advice is to daily read a Danish newspaper fx Berlingske, Politiken, Information eller Jyllandsposten. On Youtube you can find and watch many videos og public lectures in the Danish universities. At www.videnskab.dk you can read about the newest research in Denmark.

Practical information about Studieprøven
Bring photo ID
To participate in the exam, you have to bring a current and legal photo ID. Please read the requirements for legal ID: Læs om ministeriets vejledning om legitimation til prøverne her.
Regulations on use of computers
Please note that you can write your written exam by hand – bring pen, pencil, eraser etc. A2B will supply you with paper.
Use of computer
Do you wish to use computer for your written exam, you have to bring your own computer. Read the requirements below:
- Before the exam begins, A2B will check your computer to make sure that you can’t access the internet.
- We will supply you with a USB-pen. On the USB you’ll find a document in which you have to write your written exam.
- Remember that it is your own responsibility that you, during your written exam, back up and save your written document. Save on the USB and on your computer, so you have a safety copy. When you arrive at your exam, we recommend that you right away make sure that the USB works with your computer. If the USB is not working, A2B will give you a new USB-pen.
- When you finish writing, you save on the USB-pen and give the USB to the A2B staff who will print for you.
- A2B doesn’t offer technical assistance and doesn’t take responsibility for errors or accidents you may have with your brought computer.
- A2B will not provide you with a computer.
Complaints
You are in your right to complain about the writting and oral exam results. The complaints has to be made within 4 weeks after you receive your grades. Læs ministeriets klagevejledning her.
Exam with specific conditions
If you are in your right to take Studieprøven under special conditions fx dislexia or other deficiencies, then you have to check the box "Jeg ønsker at tage eksamen under særlige forhold". Afterwards you have to send documentation to the A2B location where you will take your exam. We have to receive your documentation 8 weeks before the written exam the latest. Are you already a student with A2B?
If you are already a student at A2B, then note that the exam is free for A2B students with a referral from your municipality. Contact the A2B administration for guidance on how to register.

Take Studieprøven with A2B on November 11th 2024 – signup for both the written and the oral exam, or just one of them.

Price: DKK 911 for the oral exam and DDK 911 for the written exam.
